First of
all, that video was uploaded like 7 years ago, so it’s a little outdated.
Nowadays the racial discrimination against afro-Colombians has decreased
significantly, but it still exists. We can see afro-Colombian people occupying
higher charges in politics, sports and have more access to education. There are
a lot of examples of this like black soccer players in Europe like Ramos,
Jackson, Sanchez and more players. Things that never happened before to
afro-Colombian people, but discrimination stills exist at work, streets and at
the school by kids. The Colombian people are very intolerant to each other and
according to me one cause of the decrease of racism is the discrimination
against gay people which it’s more controversial and people “like” to focus on
that.
I completely agree wih you. I just took into account the video is so old and nowadays we can see more opportunities for afrocolombians. However, we have to defeat racism completely.
ResponderEliminarThe video is a few years old, that is absolutely true. You make a good point about how afro-Colombians are occupying higher charges in politics, but many people would argue that this still does not make things that much better. One example from the United States is that even though Barack Obama was elected president, the lives of ordinary Black people did not change significantly. The racism they face is still more or less the same.
